Summer Camp

The Warsaw Flying Club is proud to introduce our 2015 Summer Camp season!

Aviators Academy (Ages 13 and up)

  • July 13-17, 9am-12pm
  • Warsaw Municipal Airport

Similar to the Junior Aviators Camp, the curriculum is geared more toward an older audience. This camp is for teens, ages 13-17, who are interested in pursuing a possible career in aviation. These students may even have a goal to attain their pilot’s license before they finish high school! During this week of camp, students will take a closer look into the career opportunities in aviation, as well as learn the fundamentals or flight, weather, navigation and take their FIRST FLIGHT LESSON. Upon the completion of camp, campers will receive a pilot's logbook, a t-shirt, and a video of their first flight.

Flying Tigers Summer Program (Ages 16-20)

  • June-August
  • 10am-12pm
  • 3 Afternoon flight lessons each week

Want to take it up a notch and earn your private pilot's license this summer? Join our Flying Tigers Summer Program, designed for students looking to earn their pilot’s license in 8 short weeks, specifically for youth ages 16-20. This program is perfect for those interested in pursuing a career in aviation. Students begin lessons in June and finish in August, attending group ground school each morning, Monday-Friday. In addition to ground school, students will schedule 3 flights each week with 2 peers and WFC’s Certified Flight Instructor, in a Cessna 172. During this flight training, students will log all flight time, begin flight lessons, take their first solo flight and finish with 40 hours of flight time. This program is to prepare students to pass the private pilot exam and check ride, earning their private pilot's license by end of August or when they turn 17. This is an ideal program for students who have taken the aviation class at WCHS or for students looking to get ahead of their peers as they begin their education and career in aviation. Upon completion of the session, students will receive their pilot's logbook, a t-shirt, a framed photo of their solo flight and their private pilot's license (assuming they pass the exam and check ride).
