Final Approach | WFC Earns Top Award

We are so excited to announce that the Warsaw Flying Club has been recognized, for the third consecutive year, for its high standard of accomplishment in flight training by The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. AOPA is the world’s largest aviation association and has awarded WFC a spot on the Flight Training Excellence Awards Honor Roll. This is a huge accomplishment for our club as this title is only given to the highest scoring flight schools from AOPA’s annual flight training poll.

WFC was one of only 23 flight schools in the nation and the only school in Indiana to earn this prestigious Honor Roll Award. The 2015 award winners were selected from nominations submitted to the AOPA Flight Training Poll by flight students across the country. Poll participants reviewed their own training experiences at 788 different flight schools, nationwide and with 1,533 individual flight instructors. Additionally, WFC’s own CFI Jon Fussle was named a top Flight Instructor on the Instructor Honor Roll Award. Fussle made the list of the top 45 instructors nationwide.

AOPA’s Flight Training Excellence Awards were created to highlight the best flight training the industry has to offer. “All of us here at AOPA are proud and excited to recognize this year's winners,” said Chris Moser, AOPA’s manager of flight training initiatives. “The Flight Training Excellence Awards were created to recognize best practices in flight training—excellent customer service, quality education, community development, and sharing knowledge. The feedback from this year's poll makes it clear that the winners are providing high quality and effective training for their students.

“These Flight Training Excellence Awards are incredibly humbling to receive. We have worked hard to make the Club the best it can be for our members, and I am always striving to be a better instructor, to do a better job, and to give the highest quality of flight training to our students,” said Fussle. “We could not have done this without everyone who makes the Flying Club what it is. Every one of our members is vital to our success and to being recognized on a national stage like this.

WFC offers flight training for the Private, and Commercial licenses, in addition to Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings. The Warsaw Flying Club has offered flight instruction to more than 170 pilots since opening it’s doors in 2004.
