Jim Quick's First Solo!
On Saturday, September 9, 2004, Jim Quick, of Warsaw, took command of a Cessna 152 at the Warsaw Municipal Airport and achieved his first flight with his Flight Instructor supervising from the ground. Jim Quick soloed for the first time. Jim quick has logged more than 9 hours of flight experience and demonstrated the skill and knowledge required of a student pilot for solo flight. Jim started his training earlier in September and progressed quickly through training. His flight instructor is Jon Fussle.
Around 4:00pm, Jim Quick and Jon Fussle got together for a lesson as Jim trained for his Private Pilot's License. Jon was missing the Notre Dame game for which he's got season tickets (Notre Dame beat Washington 38-3), but Jim made it all worth while. After practicing a few takeoffs and landings, Jon gave Jim the last pieces of advice, including "Don't get eliminated", and sent him on his way. It was truly a beautiful evening to fly, and Jim took full advantage of it by making three beautiful landings to complete his lesson. Congratulations Jim Quick!
