Bruce Jackson Goes Solo!
On February 20, 2006, Bruce Jackson went solo! On a beautiful Monday afternoon, Bruce Jackson taxied his Piper Warrior out from the ramp without his instructor. Bruce's Flight Instructor, Erik Fussle, and older brother Brad Jackson were present to watch him take wing on this monumental occasion. While the winds were a bit stronger than ideal, Bruce was up for the challenge and handled his three landings beautifully. Congratulations to Bruce Jackson on his recent accomplishment!
Warrior Gets New Interior!
A little more than two months ago, the Piper Warrior was purchased and placed in
the Warsaw Flying Club. It had come out of a two-year hibernation and was
in need of little more than an annual to bring it back to a flyable condition.
But now, with a new soft, plush leather seats, new carpet, and new plastic
interior, and a new windshield, it
is in excellent shape. Now its interior looks as nice as the plane flies!
Schedule a check-out in this four-seated beauty and take your friends out for a
ride.
The FAA came down from the South Bend FSDO on February 16th and gave our fleet a thorough inspection. Both aircraft came up with a few minor items that had to be immediately addressed, such as the missing compass deviation card from the Warrior and a three missing placards on the 152. While they ensured that the Warsaw Flying Club is maintaining our aircraft as we should, they couldn't help but comment how beautiful the Warrior was. My thoughts exactly. Although it is not exactly enjoyable to have the FAA come and pay a visit for a base check, it was a great opportunity to ensure that we are in compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations and discuss the exciting future here at the Warsaw Flying Club.
Ryan Weidenbenner Solos!
While the news came to us a little later than usual, Ryan Weidenbenner, it turns out, did solo. It is believed to have been December 15, 2005 when Ryan finally took the controls of the Cessna 152 without an instructor. Congratulations to Ryan Weidenbenner!
