Squawk Ident | CFII Jayson Slabach

As summer comes to an end and we begin a new semester of life with the start of school, fall sports and cooler weather, it’s the perfect time for you to start something new too! Whether you want to start your private pilot training, instrument rating or earn your commercial license, now is a great time to start your training with newly certified, CFII Jayson Slabach. “I've been an airplane geek all my life and I initially went to school to be a teacher so this [flight instructing] was kind a great way to pursue both.

Jayson has been a club member with us since 2014 and has worked so hard to earn the title of CFII, alongside his full time job at Zimmer Biomet and his family. Jayson has been instructing with us since June and has been a great addition to our team! With him on board, you now have more options and flexibility when continuing your flight training and can earn your Instrument Rating or Commercial License with either him or CFII Jon Fussle, or utilize both instructors to increase flexibility among the schedule.

Many Private Pilots start and finish their aviation goals with that one license, a private pilot’s license. However, with Indiana weather being as diverse as it is, being a safe and active pilot is more important than ever as Jayson tells us. “It’s so important to earn your Instrument Rating because it makes you a better pilot and makes your pilot certificate much more practical.” That’s why we encourage our private pilots to continue their training, well past just learning to fly. Whether you’re flying for business or leisure, it’s crucial to know how to fly in IFR conditions before you encounter them. Weather is unpredictable, but as a pilot, you don’t have to be. Start your instrument with us today and be ready for any situation in which you find yourself.

Jayson encourages all pilots to continue educating yourself and earning new ratings. Even though he’s a CFII, he’s not sure he’ll ever be finished learning to fly, as he hopes to become a full-time flight instructor once he retires from his day job. “If you have the aviation bug just do it, you will not regret it. It will open up so many new destinations and experiences for you.” Some of Jayson’s most enjoyable experiences in learning to fly include the Club’s Formation Flight Friday and flying new airplanes and seeing new places.

To join Jayson in the fun of flight, contact Carla at 888-566-3877 or email us at warsawflyingclub@gmail.com to schedule your lesson or your first flight under the hood with Jayson or Jon. We look forward to flying with you soon!
