WFC Hall of Fame

The Warsaw Flying Club has been blessed with some of the best flight instructors that have graced the skies.  We'd like to take some time to introduce you to them, if you never had the privilege of meeting them.  It is our way of thanking them for the time they have spent being a part of the Flying Club.

Karina Holstad-Fussle
Chief Flight Instructor
March, 2005 to December, 2005

Karina Holstad moved to Warsaw from Jackson, Mississippi in March, 2005 to take a job as a Certified Flight Instructor with the Warsaw Flying Club. She was quickly promoted to Chief Flight Instructor, and spent the remainder of the year with the Warsaw Flying Club.  She moved to the United States from Norway in the fall of 2000 to attend one of the most renowned schools in aviation, the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. On her way to graduating with a bachelor's degree in Airport Management, Karina worked hard to become certified by the Federal Aviation Administration in Private and Commercial Pilot's licenses for both Single and Multi-Engine aircraft. She also earned her Instrument Rating in addition to the licenses she had--and as a crowning achievement to her studies at UND--became a Certified Flight Instructor.  After spending almost a year at the Warsaw Flying Club, Karina took a job in southern California as a corporate and charter pilot for AirNet starting out in the Beech Baron and then moving into the Beech 99 as a Captain, then moving on to the Learjet 35.  In May, 2006, Karina married David Fussle, a flight instructor for the Warsaw Flying Club at the time.  The two met in Jackson Mississippi, where David was a cargo charter pilot.  After an extended tenure at AirNet, Karina accepted a First-Officer position with AvantAir in the Piaggio Avanti P.180.  She is currently based out of Philadelphia, PA.  We sorely miss Karina here at the Club and would like to wish the best of luck to Karina and her new husband in their future together.

David Fussle
Senior Flight Instructor
January, 2006 to June, 2006

One of the most experienced pilots in the Club, David brought years of experience to the table.  With all the instructor ratings, including the Multi-Engine Instructor rating (MEI), and more than four years of flight instructing in the southeast, the addition of David Fussle was more than just another instructor.  Dave had nearly 4,000 hours flying all types of aircraft including, but not limited to, the Cessna 210, 310, 421, Beech 18, and Baron.  Just before leaving the Warsaw Flying Club, David and Karina got married.  He then moved to Palm Springs, California to be with his new bride and to help start a new charter company in southern California.  With the success of the charter company, David was quickly scooped up by Worldwide Jet, in Millville, New Jersey.  He is currently Assistant Chief Pilot for the charter company and spends summers with his wife on their 36' sailboat.  All the members of the Warsaw Flying Club wish David and Karina Fussle the best in their future together!

Curtis Watson
Certificated Flight Instructor
January, 2007 to January 2008

Curtis Watson grew up at the airport in Warsaw.  From washing and waxing corporate aircraft, to working the line fueling them up, to flight instructing members of the community, Curtis is at home around airplanes.  A graduate of both Vincennes University (AA) and Purdue University (BA), Curtis has made education his priority.  Curtis is already an experienced flight instructor, having spent his last two semesters instructing at Lafayette Aviation in Purdue.  After a little more than a year at the Warsaw Flying Club, Curtis was hired by Air Cargo Carriers flying the Shorts 360 (just like the one parked on the ramp at ASW).  Congratulations to Curt on his success and we hope to see him back in Warsaw soon!

Dr. Dave Dick
Certificated Flight Instructor
February, 2004 to February, 2008

Dr. Dave Dick was a member of the Warsaw Flying Club from the beginning.  He has been a pilot since 1977 and is a Commercial Single-Engine rated pilot in both the United States and Canada.  With nearly a thousand hours of flight time throughout both countries, Dave brings a wealth of experience in aviation and medicine.  The level of professionalism and depth of experience contributed deeply to the Warsaw Flying Club.
