LESSON OBJECTIVE:

During this lesson, the student will be introduced to front and back course localizer tracking while continuing to gain proficiency with full and partial panel procedures. The student will also learn to interpret the CDI indications associated with the increased sensitivity of the localizer while tracking inbound on the front or back course.

• Straight-and-Level Flight
• Constant Rate Climbs and Descents
• Constant Airspeed Climbs and Descents
• Timed Turns to Magnetic Compass Headings

• Localizer Tracking (Front Course)
• Localizer Tracking (Back Course)

COMPLETION STANDARDS:

The student will demonstrate increased proficency in full and partial panel VOR procedures while maintaining altitude +/-150 feet and heading +/-10 degrees. The student will also begin to understand localizer tracking.
